We are inviting applications for Business Development Managers for an international Bank based in Leicester. This is a 12-month rolling contract to start immediately.
DUTIES / JOB DESCRIPTION: Business Development Manager - BDM
1. Originate property debt finance (both buy-to-let and development) transactions through own network.
2. Develop and execute strategies to grow the bank's property loan portfolio, including residential and commercial mortgages.
3. Identify and target potential clients, engaging with real estate brokers for property loan portfolio growth.
4. Develop and implement strategies to grow the bank's deposit base through retail and business channels.
5. Identify high potential markets and customer segments to attract new clients.
6. Maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and ensure effective follow-up to convert leads into loans or deposits.
7. Work with individual or corporate clients, providing them with a range of financial services and products, including deposits and loans.
8. Manage the origination and sale of property debt finance transactions through own network.
9. Develop relationships with institutions for onward funding of property.
10. Originate opportunities in portfolio acquisitions from funds/institutions.
11. Assist in managing real estate transactions originated by branches for terms closing with clients and credit approval and disbursement.
12. Set up a broker channel for origination of real estate debt finance.
13. Review and analyze property operating performance.
14. Appraise the asset management and business plans of target properties to be financed.
15. Evaluate property-specific risks and be proficient in Excel modeling.
16. Assess the net income position and the implications on cash flow, value, and exit position.
17. Build, interpret, and manipulate financial models to evaluate the security of financing arrangements.
18. Be responsible for valuation due diligence during the transaction execution process.
19. Write credit applications under tight deadlines and lead the credit process.
20. Address any queries or requests raised by the credit risk department, the credit committee, and the business line.
21. Prepare deal proposals and term sheets.
22. Provide insights on commercial property investment and development market situations in the UK.
23. Ensure KYC and compliance requirements of Real Estate Finance are adhered to.
24. Assist with asset management of already invested Real Estate Finance facilities.
25. Assist the MD&CEO with ad hoc projects as they arise within the context of the Real Estate Finance team.
26. Complete any additional assignments from line manager or updates in the office order relevant to the job role.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. 5+ years of experience in dealing with institutional funders with a good network in real estate portfolio landlords.
2. Proven track record of growing a loan portfolio and deposits.
3. Strong understanding of property financing, real estate markets, and banking.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
5. Good understanding of real estate finance and due diligence processes.
6. Good team player.
