Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Parts Supervisor is an integral lead role within the parts team. The Supervisor will be 'hands on' driving activities within the parts department, supporting the team An experienced supervisor who is used to overseeing a large parts operation and has a track record for accurately controlling parts stock. Your key responsibilities will be: Take responsibility for the quality, storage and handling of all parts on site in accordance with agreed processes and protocols Ensure the BCA values and beliefs are upheld Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment Support the operation to ensure their requirements are being met; both inspection/part pricing and sourcing of parts to complete refurbishment activities Lead and direct the parts team to foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement Daily running of the stores operation to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner Plan, lead and train the parts team in their roles, including cover for absence Ensure all parts storage on site and waste management is handled to the required quality standard Be active in the development and integration of ISO standards (e.g. 9001, 14001, 45001) Operate a culture of continual improvement to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices Liaise with customers as required to ensure all contractual obligations are met Monitor internal KPIs and customer SLAs to track performance to deliver results and identify areas for improvement Monitor and minimise stock obsolescence. Review overtime requirements to achieve customer needs, ensuring costs are monitored/controlled Review agency staff level requirements to peak and trough with available work and work with the Parts Manager to ensure the right level of staff/costs are achieved to deliver the required result Assist in managing the Company’s suppliers, including their health and safety whilst on site Support ESG initiatives on site Carry out staff return to work interviews to support in absence management and monitor/review staff performance Support with interviewing and overseeing skill tests of potential new starters To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you: Proven candidate who has experience in supervising, or managing a parts operation in the automotive industry Strong IT skills with a good knowledge of MS Office. Any industry bespoke IT systems is advantageous, although training is available Strong people skills and ability to engage effectively with all stakeholders Perform duties professionally, punctually and courteously at all times - Lead by example Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve operational targets in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and motivate staff Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a focus on data-driven decision-making Lead, respond positively to, and encourage beneficial change Ability to react calmly and effectively in unplanned situations Attend Company instigated training activities Own a Full UK Driving Licence (essential) We’ve put everything in place to ensure you thrive.
