With continual growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller/Finance Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be an experienced FC who is highly motivated, has good commercial analytical skills, able to establish and maintain positive working relationships, willing to keep learning and strive for excellence!
Job Purpose
This role is reporting directly to the Financial Director and it will be your responsibility to provide detailed and accurate financial information in a timely manner which will assist the Director’s decision making. You will also manage a team of 6 day to day ensuring best practice is maintained and there are continuous improvements on internal processes.
Duties / Responsibilities
* Production of accurate, consistent and timely monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations with detailed analysis.
* Weekly profit and loss analysis across three sites for reporting.
* Detailed reporting and analysis of revenue and costs to help key business decisions and also drive process/reporting improvements.
* Detailed costing for key customers and involvement in modelling costs/prices for potential new contracts.
* Manage and work closely with the Accounts Department in order to ensure they are carrying out their responsibilities and ensure consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function.
* External contact will mainly be with Auditors.
* Preparation of statutory accounts from trial balance.
* Ensure effective and timely communication of business KPI’s and efficiencies to all levels of management.
* Reviewing, updating, and implementing existing internal accounting systems and introducing new systems and controls where appropriate.
* Maintaining the General Ledger; setting up new accounts and cost centres when required; ensuring reconciliation of control accounts; ensuring allocation of expenditure to cost centres.
* Accurate processing of all supplier invoices and for their regular payment (mainly by BACS).
* Assisting the FD with the managing of all company bank accounts including company credit cards; ensuring adequate funds are available to meet expenditure requirements; ensuring excess funds are earning a reasonable rate of return; liaising on a regular basis with the Company bankers.
* VAT: Responsible for the completion of monthly VAT returns and EU sales and providing advice on compliance with VAT regulations as necessary.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an FC.
* Experience of preparing month-end reports and analysis for presentation to management.
* Preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified; however, significant experience instead of a qualification will be considered.

* Knowledge of Sage Line 50 and preferred knowledge of Sage X3.
* Ability to form good working relationships with people at all levels.
* Significant knowledge of management accounting, costings, forecasting, and budgeting.
* Advanced Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, and use of advanced formulae.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Adaptability: demonstrate willingness to be flexible and versatile.
* Behave ethically: understand ethical behaviour and business practices.
* Organisation and planning skills.
* Think strategically.
