Locum Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Skin Cancer Focus) with Relocation Support*
Are you ready to take your Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery career to the next level? Join us at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) as a Locum Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) with a specialist interest in skin cancer.
This exciting 10.75 session, 12-month post is part of our department’s expansion to meet the growing demand for our renowned regional specialist services. With the potential to transition to a substantive role, this is an incredible opportunity to become a key player in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team at the forefront of OMFS care.
Main duties of the job
* Skin Cancer Expertise: Be at the cutting edge of OMFS with a particular focus on managing skin cancer cases in close collaboration with our dermatology service.
* Collaborative Multidisciplinary Teams: Actively contribute to both the Head & Neck and Skin Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs), managing complex and challenging cases.
* Regional Leadership: Scope to participate in the Pan Avon on-call rota (1:8), managing the full remit of OMFS trauma with a strong, tiered support structure, including doubly qualified StRs and dentally qualified DCTs.

About You
* We are seeking an experienced and dynamic consultant with broad expertise across the OMFS spectrum, including trauma, and a particular passion for managing skin cancer. You will thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and bring a proactive approach to delivering outstanding patient care. A fellowship in skin cancer is highly desirable to address the complex case mix and further enhance our specialist services.

Person specification
Qualifications & Training
* Eligible for full registration with the GDC; BDS (or equivalent).
* Eligible for full registration with the GMC; MBChB (or equivalent).
* GMCs Specialist List for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (or within 6 months of eligibility) or equivalent
* FRCS (OMFS) or equivalent
* Certificate of Accreditation or Intercollegiate Speciality Examination in OMFS following completion of SAC approved training programme or equivalent
* Skin Cancer Surgery Fellowship
Experience
* Special interest and expertise in managing patients with head and neck skin cancer
* Experience working with colleagues from other specialities involved in the management of patients with head and neck oncology.
* Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
* Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit and evidence of participation
* Evidence of research abilities and willingness to participate in research relevant to restorative dentistry and Directorate’s needs
