About the Client: Our client is a leading principal civil engineering contractor, renowned for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects within the water, environment, and power sectors. They specialize in providing innovative solutions for complex civil engineering challenges and are committed to delivering high-quality projects for a diverse range of clients. Due to their ongoing expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (P6), ensuring all project activities are aligned with agreed timelines and project goals.
2. Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
3. Produce detailed project reports, tracking key milestones, critical paths, and any schedule deviations, providing actionable insights to the project team and senior management.
4. Collaborate with the project manager to evaluate project risks and opportunities and contribute to the development of risk management strategies.
5. Ensure the accurate tracking of project progress, with regular updates to ensure that key deadlines and objectives are met.
6. Provide support in the procurement process and ensure timely delivery of materials, resources, and services to meet project timelines.
7. Analyze project schedule deviations and evaluate their impact on overall project timelines, recommending mitigation strategies to avoid delays.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the planning process.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Project Planner within the heavy civil engineering sector, particularly in projects related to water, environment, or power infrastructure.
2. Strong experience using Primavera P6 (P6) for project scheduling and management.
3. A deep understanding of civil engineering processes, project sequencing, and resource management.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
6. Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
7. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices within the water, environment, or power sectors.
