We are seeking a people orientated and safety conscious leader, to join our Operations Management Team as a Driver Team Manager to inspire Train Drivers to deliver exceptional service. Working closely with our Operations Managers, you’ll inspire and motivate your team to bring our vision to life where it really matters - at ground level, on our trains. That means contributing to our overall Business Plan by making sure our trains operate safely and staying flexible enough to deal with ever-changing demands as our business continues to move quickly. Day to day, you’ll carry out technical and security checks, promote our safety and quality focused culture, assess drivers and their knowledge, deliver briefing sessions. All to make sure everyone on the team is fit to work in line with statutory and mandatory requirements, and is able to perform at their best and meet the highest standards. In this varied and exciting role you’ll lead and direct all traincrew operational, safety and people management activities to enable the team to deliver high standards of quality and customer service. You’ll maintain our competence management system for drivers, promote and foster a positive safety culture and motivate your team to our operational and performance standards. About you: We are looking for someone with PTS certification and a valid train driving licence in line with TDCLR. You would need to have 3 years driving experience for undertaking assessments and 4 years’ experience to conduct final examinations with Trainee Drivers. Ideally, you’ll also have a management qualification such as a Certificate or Diploma in Management Studies or an NVQ Level 4 (MCI standards). You will bring a good standard of education, a solid knowledge of railway operations, genuine people skills, and a passion for working with a team. To fulfil this highly responsible role, you’ll need: Ideally, you must live within 45 minutes of the depot.
