We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Events Coordinator to lead and manage a diverse range of events at our historic Brewery and Visitor Centre during a period of maternity cover. In this exciting role, you will be at the heart of our event programme, overseeing the smooth delivery of weddings, parties, concerts, tours, and much more. From the initial customer inquiry to the final tidying up, you will ensure that every event is executed to the highest standards, working closely with our experienced teams and liaising with clients to bring their visions to life. You will show prospective clients around our unique event spaces, collaborate with the Visitor Centre team to plan and coordinate events, and ensure that every detail – from menus to logistics – is handled efficiently. Actual working hours will vary due to the nature of the role and will be confirmed in advance. Duties and Responsibilities: Host & manage events hosted at Shepherd Neame, including but not limited to setting up and hosting weddings, parties, concerts and tours. Meet with and show prospective and existing customers around the multiple event spaces at the Brewery and Visitor Centre Work with the Vistor Centre Operations Manager & Event Planning & Sales to oversee the programme of events Ensure a complete understanding of the requirements for every event and work with the Visitor Centre Operations Manager & Event Planning & Sales for successful execution Set up event preparation and tidying up, coordinate team members as required, including meetings, events, concerts and other functions Identify new sales leads and opportunities to enhance the customer experience and grow the business in conjunction with the Visitor Centre Operations Manager Attend wedding fayres to promote venues within the business Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to promote repeat custom Assist the Visitor Centre team with the day-to-day running of the Visitor Centre Act as Duty Supervisor as required The Ideal Candidate: Demonstrable experience in a similar role, including but not limited to events management, hospitality or front-of-house Conscientious with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to our customers for a memorable event Friendly and approachable with the ability to effectively communicate difficult conversations with external stakeholders, both written and verbal Diligent with a strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook) and data analytical skills Organised to effectively prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced and agile department, assisting other tasks as required Flexibility to cover other departmental tasks or assist as required Shepherd Neame may be Britain’s oldest brewer but our approach is anything but old-fashioned.
