The legal team is located across London, Atlanta, Barcelona and Brussels. It operates in a very collaborative and team-oriented manner. About the Role Reporting to the Head of Legal (with day-to-day supervision delivered by the four Lead Counsels on a rotating basis), the role of the Legal Assistant will be to work alongside and closely support all members of the commercial legal team. The Legal Assistant will gain experience of all areas of GSMA’s commercial businesses including Events, Marketing, Media, New Ventures, Strategic Partnerships, Corporate Services, Technology & Regulatory, Membership and Consulting & Data Services. As the GSMA is a rapidly-evolving and ambitious organisation – an enthusiastic, flexible attitude is a must Day to day tasks will include: Helping to maintain template agreements – ensuring that they are periodically reviewed and kept up to date. Drafting and negotiating documents such as NDAs, MoUs, contract amendments & notifications, novation agreements and assignments. Undertaking legal research and contractual analysis. Answering legal queries from both internal stakeholders and external customers. Producing legal guidance notes and training materials for GSMA staff. Handling certain administrative aspects of GSMA’s internal GDPR compliance. Issuing cease & desist communications to third parties regarding unauthorised exploitation of GSMA’s intellectual property. There is also the potential opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake SRA-recognised training and qualification with the GSMA. The Legal Assistant will be based in London (with flexible-working offered as standard). About You You will: Have strong previous experience as a paralegal or in a contract administration role, preferably in an in-house environment. Have a desire to gain further exposure to commercial law and be open to continuing your professional development under the supervision of senior lawyers. Be tech-savvy with a willingness to embrace Legal Tech/AI. Be a team player who can operate effectively and independently in a geographically dispersed and collaborative culture. Have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver work output/advice directly to non-legal stakeholders. Have a keen attention to detail alongside the commercial acumen to deliver timely, pragmatic and accessible legal advice.
