Roseland Kennel & Cattery are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Animal Care and Welfare Assistant to join their family run business. As an apprentice you will earn whilst you learn within the animal care industry. You will learn valuable skills and experiences which are involved in supporting the care and wellbeing of cats and dogs.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties will include but are not restricted to:
* Dog walking and offering exercise opportunities
* Preparing and providing feed and water
* Handling and care of animals
* Promote and maintain health and well-being
* Supporting an animal's basic medications (under supervision)
* Prepare, clean and disinfect accommodation
* Encouraging effective working relationships
* Welcome, receive and speak with visitors
* Carry out basic reception duties
* Represent the company professionally

You will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.
You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an Apprenticeship advisor.
You will be required to attend Cornwall College Duchy Rosewarne on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
