Lead Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Principal Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact projects under a long-standing Master Service Agreement (MSA) across the Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power, and Energy Transition sectors.
Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership:
* Lead the C&I team throughout all project phases, ensuring exceptional performance and on-time delivery.
* Manage and mentor team members, promoting skill development and high standards.
* Project Management:
* Oversee budget development, management, and cost control for C&I central projects within the MSA.
* Ensure alignment of technical approaches and continuity across project and proposal work.
* Execute work activities across Conceptual Studies, Basic Design, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
* Technical Contributions:
* Develop and manage Instrument Engineering deliverables for process plants and facilities.
* Provide expertise across Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Power, and New Energy sectors.
* Collaborate with cross-discipline teams, clients, and project managers to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential Experience:
* Extensive experience in Instrument Engineering Design on medium to large capital projects.
* Proven track record in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas industries (refinery experience preferred).
* Familiarity with UK standards and experience working on UK projects is essential.
* Expertise in C&I disciplines, with the ability to lead interfaces between disciplines.
Technical Proficiency:
* Specification, selection, and compliance assurance for equipment.
* Skilled in the application and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, including full lifecycle management.
* Proficient in the specification and design of Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX).
* Experience with P&ID development, flow device sizing, control valves, and relief device calculations.
Leadership & Communication:
* Competent in project execution, budget management, and schedule control.
* Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with client engineers and project management teams.
* Innovative problem-solving approach to deliver on challenging objectives.
Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant discipline.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IMC/IET membership preferred).
