JOB TITLE: Managing Director, Higher Education and Charity
LOCATION: London
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.
About this opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Managing Director to join our Higher Education and Charity team. This role involves national leadership of these two high profile sectors, closely aligned with Lloyds Banks purpose of Helping Britain Prosper.
You'll act as the face to market, engaging with c-suite equivalents across the sector helping to harness these complex, high profile and critical relationships with a view to bringing the best of LBG to these sectors from a financing, convening and thought leadership perspective.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Setting the strategy and long-term objectives and leading its execution with a team of UK wide relationship bankers.
* Improve and increase the quality and quantity of the business to achieve business objectives for income generation and profitability whilst ensuring the effective management of risk.
* Takes ownership for implementing formal performance development frameworks for the team, while informally coaching and mentoring others throughout the organisation and investing in own personal development.
* Ability to build a high profile, both internally and externally, including building close working relationships with key sector bodies and the regulator and representing the organisation in a variety of industry and professional forums to promote the value of the company brand.
* Leading a team who manage a portfolio of complex customer relationships to ensure the delivery of a quality service and growth of profitable business alongside winning new relationships.
* Work closely with internal risk partners and support institutions at a senior level through financial sustainability challenges.

What we need from you?
* A strong track record of leading banking teams to deliver growth across sectors.
* Extensive knowledge of the Higher Education and Charities sectors highly beneficial.
* Building trust. Demonstrate thought leadership from the front; strong leadership skills with experience of managing UK wide teams of relationship bankers with an ability to work across organisational boundaries and deliver through others.
* Given the financial sustainability challenges in the Higher Education sector, strong risk management and analytical skills are crucial.
* An understanding of the regulatory backdrop to the sector is critical alongside an ability to develop tailored propositions for the sector.
* An ability to communicate clearly and effectively and collaborate openly with all partners, including peers, senior leaders and Board members, suppliers and regulators.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks.
