With a current establishment of over 100 staff members across all departments, we are looking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Dispensary Team.
You will work alongside other grades of pharmacy staff and clinical pharmacists to ensure that medications are dispensed swiftly and accurately. You will also work collaboratively with our ward-based clinical pharmacy services team to facilitate the delivery of a first-class patient-focused service helping to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

This post is full-time, 37.5 hrs per week, and your contracted hours will be worked over 5 days, including participation in the weekend, late night, and bank holiday rotas. We will also consider flexible working solutions.
Main duties of the job
As a Dispensary based pharmacy technician, your duties will include:
1. Dispensing medication including unlicensed drugs, controlled drugs, cytotoxic drugs, inpatient and outpatient prescriptions, and stock/over-labelled items in accordance with the agreed safe systems of work practice.
2. Dispensing clinical trials in accordance with the dispensing protocol, ICH GCP guidelines, and European Directive under the direction of the clinical trials technician/pharmacist.
3. Rotation within the pharmacy department of the Trust.
4. Dispensing monitored dosage systems.
5. Supporting Trust initiatives for the rapid discharge of patients by swiftly and accurately dispensing discharge medication.
6. Assisting in the maintenance of reasonable stock levels and the performance of the daily rolling stock takes to comply with audit requirements.
7. Providing accurate record keeping of controlled drugs kept in the pharmacy including supplies to wards and departments, orders received into the pharmacy, and regular audits of the accuracy of computer and paper records.
8. Answering telephone and face-to-face queries of a routine or technical nature from a wide range of staff groups, patients, and carers, and referring appropriate queries to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary.
9. Patient counselling in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
