Senior Project Manager at Thames Water
The successful candidate for this role will have the unique opportunity to enhance the resilience of our second-largest sewage treatment works. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the team in successfully delivering the current project at the site, which will continue over the next few years. You will also lead an upcoming project by defining the scope and programme and managing the procurement and subsequent delivery for further significant investment at the site in AMP8. This will directly contribute to Thames Water's Capital Delivery programme and Turnaround plan. Join us and spearhead the exciting changes at Thames Water!
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager
1. Take accountability for governance compliance and stakeholder engagement throughout the project's lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition into operational business.
2. Support the definition of solutions to meet project objectives and prepare a clear business case.
3. Develop the procurement strategy for the project, oversee specifications, and produce contract documentation.
4. Create a strategy for obtaining third-party consents, highlighting program and project risks related to these consents.
5. Coordinate with town planning authorities and internal/external stakeholders for smooth and timely project delivery.
6. Manage consultants and contractors to deliver outcomes that are timely, cost-effective, and high-quality.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement and achievement of challenging targets across the project.
8. Manage contract matters to achieve optimal outcomes for Thames Water.
Role Location
This role is based on a hybrid basis at either Clearwater Court Reading or Modgen Sewage Treatment Works, Isleworth; on-site presence at Modgen is required 3 days a week.
Working Hours
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
* An engineering or relevant degree, or a qualification in business or project management.
* Experience in the construction, infrastructure, or utility industry, with involvement in delivering major complex projects (up to £100m) within a regulated environment.
* Knowledge of contract preparation, tendering, evaluation, and negotiation processes.
* Risk-based and analytical decision-making capabilities.
* Confidence in engaging with all levels of stakeholders.

* Salary from £54,000 to £75,000 per annum.
