Booth Welsh is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for one of our clients operations in Irvine.
The role involves preventative and reactive maintenance across a variety of equipment, contributing to the efficiency, safety, and performance of the site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair production and process equipment in line with operational needs
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks as scheduled
Respond to maintenance requisition requests and prioritise tasks with the Engineering Manager to ensure optimum equipment uptime
Undertake on-call duties as part of the engineering rota
Ensure all work areas are maintained to a high housekeeping standard
Execute engineering projects assigned by management
Liaise with suppliers to improve service levels and manage costs
Follow all quality systems and regulatory procedures
Comply with site safety standards, with experience on COMAH sites considered an advantage
Demonstrate strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
Support a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence
About You
Qualified Electrical Engineer with experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting
Experience working with PLCs and electrical control systems, including inverters
Time-served electrician or holder of HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Fully or partially multiskilled with strong fault-finding skills
Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and industrial maintenance practices
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an FMCG or GMP-regulated environment
Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred
Comfortable working shifts and adapting to changing business needs
Health and Safety conscious, with sound knowledge of workplace regulations
Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and customer service skills
Flexible, punctual, and willing to work outside normal hours when necessary
Holds a full, clean driving licence
