What to expect Thorntons has one of the leading Personal Injury teams in Scotland and we work tirelessly on behalf of clients who have sustained injuries ranging from whiplash to highly complex traumatic injuries. Our team are recognised as experts in their field with several industry leaders among their ranks. We are looking for a Legal Secretary to join the team and help us deliver the very best service to our clients. This is a large and busy court department so you can expect to work with the team on a variety of interesting cases with full support from other colleagues. The scope of this role will include: Client service: Communicating with clients, dealing with enquiries and arranging meetings Audio and Copy Typing: Accurate transcription of legal documentation, meeting/attendance notes, emails and other correspondence Case Management: Use our case management system to update and manage legal documents and information efficiently; opening/closing client files in a timely manner. Administration: Assist in the preparation of relevant forms, using appropriate online portals. Office Tasks: Undertake general office tasks, including filing, photocopying, scanning, and invoicing. What we’re looking for Previous legal secretarial or other relevant experience in a legal administration role is preferred. Excellent people skills - confident and able to work as part of a bigger team which is spread across multiple locations Strong general administrative skills Excellent communication and client service skills Excellent telephone manner Calm under pressure, good organisational skills and excellent time management - with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines An excellent knowledge of all Microsoft platforms including Word, Outlook, etc. A working knowledge of using online digital dictation would be beneficial Commitment to providing the very best service to clients Doing What’s Right A great working environment is the first thing you’ll notice.
