Job Overview: Seren Lodge Mother and Baby Unit, an exciting collaboration between NHS England and NHS Wales, is due to open in 2025 on the grounds of the Countess of Chester Health Park. Cheshire & Merseyside Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Mother and Baby Unit team. The Mother and Baby Unit is a specialist provision for women with mental health problems during pregnancy and/or in the year after their baby is born.
Main duties of the job: We are hoping to build a supportive and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team, working on a rotational shift basis which includes day and night shifts. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to build a team that provides the highest quality of care for our service users. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding and application of the 6 Cs in practice: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, and Commitment.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Criteria:
* Appropriate mental health-related qualification or willingness to complete an apprenticeship appropriate to Occupational Therapy Assistant role.
* Will work towards the appropriate mental health-related NVQ level 3 once in post or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrate a range of work procedures and practices and exhibit knowledge and abilities.
* Completion of or commitment to complete the Care Certificate (CWP in-house 2-day training to be completed within 3 months of start date).
Experience Essential Criteria:
* Experience working in mental health or learning disabilities, care work, or working with vulnerable people.
* Experience of supporting others to take part in activities.
