Location - Hythe Marina Village, Southampton (SO45)
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to residents while supervising and supporting care staff. You will be responsible for administering medication, assisting with personal care, and ensuring the well-being of individuals in a care home or domiciliary setting. Your role also involves mentoring junior carers, maintaining care plans, and working closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
1. Lead and support a team of care assistants to ensure high-quality care delivery.
2. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff.
3. Conduct handovers and ensure clear communication within the team.
Personal Care & Support:
1. Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
2. Provide mobility support, including safe use of hoists and assistive equipment.
3. Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
Medication Administration:
1. Safely administer and manage medications following care plans and policies.
2. Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
3. Liaise with healthcare professionals regarding medication changes.
Health Monitoring & Record-Keeping:
1. Observe and report any changes in residents' physical and mental well-being.
2. Maintain up-to-date care plans and records.
3. Assist in risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Care Planning & Compliance:
1. Work closely with nurses and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
2. Ensure care home policies and safeguarding regulations are followed.
3. Promote a safe and hygienic living environment for residents.
