Job summary As the Lead for Education and skills Development, you will be at the forefront of helping shape the education and skill development offering to our workforce at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and creating an outstanding experience for our staff. You will lead on the design, implementation and evaluation of cutting edge, evidence-based programmes and development opportunities from induction into the organisation and throughout careers, that ensure colleagues have every resource needed to excel, develop and provide the Best Care for Everyone. Workstreams within this portfolio include, but are not restricted to, preceptorship for newly registered practitioners, clinical skills training, education governance, moving and handling, resuscitation education and simulation-based education. You will be able to work autonomously, but also be required to work alongside, develop and maintain strong, productive working relationships across the Trust and with many Integrated Care System (ICS) and education partners, being a visible, approachable and trusted presence. The proposed interview date is 12th December Main duties of the job The Education and People Development Service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) is currently undertaking a full-scale review of its services and the provision each provides, supporting its commitment to provide the trust and colleagues with relevant, up-to-date, evidence-based education, learning and skill development opportunities. The Lead for Education and Skills Development will support the Head of Education and People Development through realignment processes and conversations, leading change management as required to ensure the Education and Skills provision within the Education and People Development Service meets the needs of both the organisation and our staff, and promotes a positive and supportive education, learning and workforce development culture. The Lead for Education and Skills Development will lead and manage education, learning and development teams, the nursing and ODP preceptorship program, clinical skills training, moving and handling provision, resuscitation education and a project post to improve education governance.
