Open Fibre Networks (OFNL), part of the BUUK Group are looking for a Principal Network Engineer who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
As the Principal Network Engineer, your key responsibilities are:
* Develop and design the active end-to-end OFNL’s fibre network, ensuring high availability and maximum performance.
* Ensure solutions are delivered in a scalable, supportable and secure manner, ensuring documentation and technical reports are created.
* Develop and deliver training material and knowledge transfer activities.
* Act as the primary technical escalation point for network issues, investigating and resolving complex technical issues.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developing engineers, acting as the technical contact for daily challenges.
About you:
* Degree in telecommunications or computer science, or equivalent experience. In addition, Nokia SRA is desirable.
* Extensive experience in Network Engineering roles, with proficiency in routing and switching technologies, and a proven track record of leading projects and driving technology initiatives.
* Extensive experience with IP, Ethernet, and GPON networking technologies, with in-depth knowledge of the OSI Layer 7 model.
* Proficiency in IP, TCP, UDP, PPPoE, OSPF, BGP, SNMP, DHCP, VRRP, 802.11g/n/ac, Ethernet.
* Expertise in MPLS, t-LDP, RSVP-TE.
* Excellent communication and teamworking skills, as well as confident in leading focus groups.
* Sharp troubleshooting skills, whilst being flexible and open to change.
