We are seeking a Clinical Research Associate to contribute to the conduct of Phase 1b, 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials as well as experimental medicine studies in patients with severe obesity. The successful applicant will join an internationally recognised team led by Professor Sadaf Farooqi and will be based in the Institute of Metabolic Science on the Addenbrooke's Hospital campus, Cambridge. The team are playing a leading role in trialling new weight loss medications in patients with severe obesity due to genetic causes. Trials are funded by Rhythm Pharmaceuticals and additional experimental medicine studies are supported by the Wellcome Trust. Possession of MRCP (UK) or its recognised equivalent is essential. Given the complex needs of the patient groups, you will be a doctor in/completed training in Diabetes and Endocrinology, Chemical Pathology or Metabolic Medicine wishing to gain experience in clinical and translational research. Previous experience of clinical research, preferably in the field of diabetes and endocrinology would be desirable but is not essential as full training in all procedures will be given. Key responsibilities of the post: Assume leading role in research studies and trials. Provide clinical care to study participants. Work alongside senior nurses to support participants with study investigations. Enter, check and analyse data.
