The Research and Knowledge Exchange Service (RKES) is seeking to appoint an individual to realise the potential offered by Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in enabling businesses to develop and grow their capabilities through working with the university. As the KTP Manager, you will have an opportunity to play a significant role in a new RKES team of enthusiastic professional services staff in the heart of Lancashire, a location with excellent transport links to major UK cities including Manchester and London.
The primary focus of this role is to work across the University linking academics to organisations interested in securing a KTP Associate, and then providing a professional service to support and grow the activity.
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic individual who can play a significant role in the service, has relevant stakeholder engagement expertise, and can lead our engagement in, and delivery of activities and projects of relevance and importance to KTPs. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who is adaptable and passionate about working with businesses, can work within internal and external systems across a diversity of teams, both internal and external. The KTP Manager will have operational responsibility for our KTP portfolio and will be supported in strategic development of our KTP offer by the Head of Enterprise and Engagement Unit.
The successful candidate will be familiar with government strategy and policies for KTPs. Alongside excellent communication and people skills, excellent presentation and writing skills are also essential criteria for the post. An ability to negotiate and influence situations is also required. Candidates must also be educated to a degree level or have equivalent professional qualifications/experience in a relevant field of study.
