Engineer | 7557 | Permanent Contract | £36,124 to £37,938 per annum (Scale I) | 37 hours per week | County Hall
We are looking for a Highway Design Engineer to work in our Design Team based at County Hall in Norwich. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the design teams that deliver the County Council’s capital improvement and structural maintenance programmes. Typical works cover all aspects of highway design and construction ranging from small £50k Structural Maintenance Schemes up to circa £3m Improvement schemes. The Teams also design and project manage developer and other externally funded projects.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer who will oversee and mentor junior team members, to deliver simpler schemes and equally assist Project Engineers to progress larger more challenging projects.
You will have a sound knowledge of highway design principles, including the CDM Regulations and a track record of delivering schemes on time and within budget. You will also possess good contractual awareness and relationship building skills to engage successfully with contractors, developers, Local Members and other key stakeholders.
The jobholder will work closely with employees of our current professional services provider, WSP and all key stakeholders to ensure new infrastructure is safe and fulfils all relevant standards.
