What you’ll do as a Test Technician
As a Test Technician, you will have the opportunity to work as a key part of the operations team and contribute to cross-functional projects. You will be a positive influence within the project teams to support the future of the business and affect the production processes.
You will be part of the busy Operations Team, working alongside an established team of highly knowledgeable operators, supported by on-going training to ensure you have the best opportunities to progress your career. We are looking for someone with a passion for working with high quality products, innovative processes, has a keenness to learn and has pride in their attention to detail.
What we need from you
As a Test Technician, you will need to have
1. Ability to identify and work with a range of traditional test tooling such as digital meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, analysers, computers etc.
2. Ability to carry out bespoke, and repeat, testing of high value electro-mechanical assemblies through a variety of test procedures.
3. Ability to identify and work with a range of hand tools to a good level of precision and accuracy.
4. Ability to follow detailed Production Test Procedures, including control plans, system schematics, circuit diagrams and quality instructions.
5. Ability to collate and maintain test results, logs, records or any other relevant production test documentation.
6. Ability to undertake fundamental levels of fault-finding, analysis and diagnosis of electronic assemblies.
7. Ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities, both individually or as part of a team.
8. Ability to comply with Health and Safety requirements such as risk assessments and COSHH.
9. Awareness of FOD (foreign Object Debris) and ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) safe working practices.
10. Awareness of raising test or supplier quality related defects and quality notifications.
11. Maintain pro-active communication with Team Leader and adjacent functions such as Project, Engineering or Quality as required.
What we would prefer you to have:
12. Knowledge or experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
13. Experience in testing Optics or optical assemblies would be beneficial.
14. Experience in testing Communications or RF assemblies would be beneficial.
15. Experience in testing Digital electronics or Printed Circuit Board (PCBs) would be beneficial.
16. Good level of computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
17. Comfortable dealing with frequent change, delays, unexpected events or ambiguity.
