Are you ready to join a progressive, independent small animal practice in a picturesque location? Our client, a well-respected small animal practice in Lincolnshire, is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their family.
Located in a popular market town on the edge of the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the area is famous for its unspoilt countryside and rolling green hills. There are numerous trails to explore by foot, bike, or horseback. The county's award-winning coastline and sandy beaches are just a short drive away, offering various watersports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing.
You will be joining a progressive six-vet independent small animal and exotics practice that strongly prioritises team well-being. They are currently expanding into new, larger, purpose-built premises, providing space to offer more services, including laparoscopy. The new facility will feature dedicated areas for cats, dogs, and exotics, as well as more team spaces such as a quiet space for admin and phone calls, an office/meeting room, and a comfortable staff room - perfect for unwinding and recharging. This expansion creates exciting opportunities for career progression, including into a clinical lead role.
Their full-time vets work a 4-day week, with one 8:30am - 5:30pm shift, two 8:30am - 6:30pm shifts, and one 8:30am - 7:30pm shift. Their Saturday rota is just 1 in 4 mornings from 8:30am - 1:30pm and out-of-hours are outsourced to a local practice, so you will have your nights and weekends free to enjoy. They can be flexible with the rota, so if you have other commitments to work around, they would be happy to discuss the options available. Their vets have at least one full ops day each week, but if you have a surgical bias, there is flexibility in the rota to increase this, as the practice aims to expand its surgical services and currently has the capacity to increase the surgical caseload with two theatres. Laparoscopy will be introduced in the new premises, and a peripatetic orthopaedic surgeon visits regularly, enabling the practice to handle orthopaedic cases like TPLOs and fracture repairs in-house.
The new state-of-the-art practice will be equipped with top-notch facilities, including Digital and Dental X-ray, new and improved Ultrasound, an Idexx in-house laboratory, endoscope, and more. The fantastic team includes six vets, five RVNs, two SVNs, and one ACA, all with various interests, along with a brilliant client care team. Along with their small animal and exotic patients, they also work with local wildlife parks and reserves, treating meerkats, penguins, seals, and more!
The team members are not just colleagues but friends who genuinely enjoy each other's company and regularly plan social events. During the summer, they trade scrubs for BBQs in the sunshine and friendly rounders games. This is a rare opportunity to work at a forward-thinking, ambitious independent practice where you will see a variety of cases and work with a team that feels more like family than colleagues.
