A well-established and successful family-run jewellery business, based in Sussex and Kent, is looking for a Manager/Assistant Manager to join our professional and growing team. The successful applicant will have a passion for selling and handling beautiful jewellery, watches, and fine-quality diamond pieces. They will also possess exceptional customer service skills with a proven track record within the trade.
Ideally, the candidate will have held a Manager/Assistant Manager position for over 12 months and be fluent in most aspects of the trade, including knowledge of both new and second-hand products. A good understanding of prestigious watches is preferred.
Responsibilities
* Achieve sales targets and drive performance in line with company goals.
* Provide exceptional customer service and create a memorable shopping experience for all customers.
* Manage, motivate, and develop staff to ensure high performance and a positive work environment.
* Handle administrative tasks, including managing emails, answering phone calls, and completing reports.
* Maintain accurate stock control, ensuring inventory levels are monitored and replenished.
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of the job, from customer interactions to product displays.
* Maintain a well-groomed and tidy appearance in line with company standards.
* Be flexible and willing to travel between stores when necessary, expenses paid (a driving license is preferred).
* Lead by example with strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and guide the team.
* Create and maintain eye-catching product displays that enhance the shopping experience.
* Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
* Ensure the store is organised and efficient, with a focus on delivering results.
Requirements
* Bring at least 12 months of experience in a management role within the retail jewellery trade.
* 3+ years experience in the retail jewellery trade.
* Exceptional customer service skills
* Possess knowledge of and experience with prestigious watches and/or antique jewellery.
* Knowledge of jewellery repairs is preferred, including the ability to assist or oversee repair processes when necessary. (preferred)
* Leadership skills.
* Work Saturdays and very occasional bank holidays/Sundays with time off in lieu.
* Flexibility to travel between stores (driving licence preferred).
Package
* Salary range £25,000 - £35,000 per annum + discretionary bonus
* 20 days annual leave + bank holidays
