Westall House is a CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ residential care home that provides care for older people in attractive and comfortable surroundings. Situated in the picturesque village of Horsted Keynes, our home benefits from beautiful views of the countryside. Our home has been carefully designed and modernised to provide a high standard of accommodation and includes the main residential house, as well as Dementia friendly services.
The role of Maintenance Operative at Westall House is for 20 contracted hours per week.
Some main duties of the role:
* All repairs are carried out effectively and quickly, and to a good standard.
* Work is carried out safely, with adherence to relevant building and construction related regulations.
* Readily identifiable issues are reported and addressed to minimise impact, risk and damage.
* Grounds and gardens are kept neat and tidy.
* Report any emergencies to Property Services.
* Complete and maintain the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the building and its environment, including painting and decoration of residents’ rooms.
* Ensure strict confidentiality in all matters.
* Make minor adjustments to windows, doors, restrictors, and door closers.
* Maintain relevant documentation, ensuring it is kept up to date and completed.
About You:
* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills, with experience in providing maintenance services to other clients.
* Ability to communicate and interact well with people, read and write to a good standard, and be computer literate.
* Good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations, with the ability to assess and manage risk.
