Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering Contractor - Northampton
Competitive salary: Up to £70,000

A booming multi-disciplinary contractor based in Northampton is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a Highways Framework Company-wide. They excel in the delivery of construction projects on a large scale, covering the East Midlands area. They have just had a record year, making this an exciting time to join them as they continue expanding.
Our client is a leading main contractor specialising in turnkey solutions for industrial, build-to-rent, student accommodation, and civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will need to be able to lead and work within a team to enable the success of projects ranging from £5m to in excess of £60 million.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
2. Attend post tender and pre-contract meetings.
3. Review contract documents to ensure company protection.
4. Issue sub-contract tender packages and undertake contractual evaluation of the tender.
5. Manage the established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
6. Assess contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans.
7. Attend internal and external commercial review meetings.
8. Submit client valuations and manage the variation account.
9. Manage the commercial aspects of the contract.
10. Experience in internal cost management and contract administration.
11. Manage subcontract accounts from procurement to final account.
12. Prepare and assist with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
13. Manage commercial performance against business targets.
14. Ensure adherence to group commercial policies and compliance with legislation.
The Right Person - Senior Quantity Surveyor:
You will be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience working on civil engineering schemes.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (1 hour for lunch)
