The CNC Turner's main tasks are:
1. Working on two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
2. Experience of CNC programming preferable on Fanuc controls
3. To be able to read and understand technical drawings
4. To be able to work with imperial measuring equipment
5. Manufacturing bushes, sleeves and nuts for Aircraft components e.g.:- Landing gears, flap and track systems
6. Also reworking and overhauling components for the airline industry
7. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures
8. You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
9. You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
10. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures
The ideal CNC Turner should meet the following requirements:
11. Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
12. Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
13. Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred
14. Experience in two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
15. Experience of CNC programming
16. Team player with proven ability to manage, lead and guidance
17. Excellent communications skills and able to work within a matrix environment
18. Good organisational skills with strong planning
19. Able to turn vision into strategy and execute
20. Engage others and develop their potential with confident decision-making skills
21. Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday (depending business needs)
22. 5 hours per week
23. Able to work shifts (06:30 – 14:30 and 14:25 – 22:25)
24. The position requires from time to time flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekends
25. The job requires the applicant to understand manual handling
26. The ability to keep your working area clean and tidy and to a 5s standard
27. Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
