JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The What: The Concessions team is responsible for all commercial activity within the terminal including Duty Free, Retail, Food & Beverage, and Services (Foreign Exchange, Car rental, taxi, coach, rail), to deliver all non-aeronautical revenues.
The How: The team select the optimum mix of UK and International brand partners to deliver industry leading products and services. Currently there are +30 companies operating +50 units or services including Boots, WHSmith, Burger King, Yo Sushi, Black Sheep Coffee, Pret and more.
The Role: The role will be fully involved in the delivery of the commercial strategy to maximise revenues and customer experience. Working with the Commercial Development Manager you will lead on all BD activity and engagement; identify emerging/target operators, manage relationships with existing partners, lead innovation, support contractual negotiations and drive incremental growth in all areas.
For the successful applicant the role will provide a detailed understanding of airport commercial activity as well as exposure to national / international brands, ensuring a strong base of skills from which to build your career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Lead on the pipeline of business development; Identify new products/services/operators to inform strategy, tender targets and tender outcomes – in conjunction with the Commercial Development Manager.
2. Lead on external relationship with all partners and stakeholders; To include quarterly business reviews, actions plans, ad-hoc and reactive interventions to support contractual performance and resolution support.
3. Lead on revenue generation; In partnership with the Retail Performance Analyst, develop initiatives to drive incremental income, to include business case analysis to support requests and deliver against strategy. E.g. Pop-up retail opportunities and new product categories.
4. Lead on Retail marketing initiatives; work with stakeholders to drive in-year business benefits e.g. events, seasonal campaigns.
5. To work effectively alongside the procurement & legal teams; deliver tender processes that deliver commercial targets including contract administration.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A successful candidate for this role will be:
1. Excellent communication (both written and oral), teamworking skills.
2. Analytically strong and confident in Microsoft Excel.
3. Commercially / Business literate.
4. Passionate about the systems and processes that lead to improved commercial performance.
5. Can prioritise and adapt to rapidly changing demands.
6. Confident and willing to work as part of a team.
7. Able to maintain discretion with data or information which may be commercially confidential.
8. An eye for detail, heavily detail-orientated with specific reference to contracts.
9. Previous experience in the areas below is advantageous:
* Commercial contracts
* Procurement regulations and processes
* Retail exposure – working in commercial retail environments e.g. shopping centres, retail parks, transport locations (railway stations, airports)
1. Degree or professional qualifications (or working towards this aspiration desirable) and/or relevant work experience.

This will be a 2-stage process, successful candidates will undergo the following:
1. Stage 1 - Aptitude test and Interview Questions.
2. Stage 2 - Presentation.
