Senior Building Surveyor
Turner Property Recruitment are delighted to be working with an award-winning, independent Chartered Building Surveying and Project Management and Architectural practice, who are looking to enhance their current surveying team with a hands-on Chartered Senior Building Surveyor.
The role is based in their Kings Cross, London Office.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full-time Senior Building Surveyor to join our client's team. They are looking for an energetic candidate who has completed their APC and is looking for a new challenge and good career progression. A can-do attitude and the ability to think on your feet is a must.
Duties
The successful candidate will be working as part of a busy team reporting directly to one of the Directors and will be expected to undertake project and professional services including:
1. Running smaller capital projects from inception to completion from £50k to £1M with the ability and confidence to report directly to clients and develop the client relationship.
2. Assisting directors and associated with larger scale projects from £1M to £10M+.
3. Liaising with and managing an external multidisciplinary design team.
4. Preparation of specifications and a detailed understanding of various types of construction to assist their architectural team.
5. A robust understanding of the main JCT forms of contract, particularly D&B and a good knowledge of CA and EA roles.
6. Building survey/pre-acquisition survey experience of commercial and residential property.
7. A working knowledge and experience of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, preparing and serving notices and awards under the Act.
8. A working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant issues, the Dilapidation Protocol including preparing and serving schedules and settlement negotiations.
9. Submission of statutory applications.
10. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play an active part in business development.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have 1 – 2 years of post-qualified experience and will be ambitious, energetic and motivated with the ability to work under pressure. A basic knowledge of AutoCad/Revit and good working knowledge of MS Project would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills and the use of MS Office is also required.
Hours
• Monday to Friday – 9:30am to 5:30pm
• Hybrid working 4 days in office and 1 from home.
