Our client is one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure organisations working across a range of disciplines including civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure. They have demonstrated continual growth in their fields of expertise and now have an exciting opportunity to grow the H&S team in England.
Due to increased workload, a new role has been created for a dynamic and innovative Health & Safety Adviser to support the work in England across the civils and utilities clients in the West Midlands and Northern areas of England.
The role will include delivering continual SHE improvements across the business region and confirming SHE processes are implemented to ensure compliance, as well as providing support and advice to key stakeholders including clients and the Contracts Director in maintaining the highest standards on site.
Working as part of a UK team and reporting to the Compliance Director, the overall purpose of the role will be to ensure the highest possible standards of SHE responsibility are implemented across the business, as well as providing coaching and mentoring support as required. A key part of the role will be to ensure that the operational delivery teams are fully supported.
Candidates should have experience working in the construction sector, ideally in utilities, civils, or infrastructure, and will have a proven track record of working with Site Managers, Project Managers, and site staff with a flexibility for travel across the UK.
This role will require candidates who are prepared for travel and working autonomously. Candidates will need to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to make sound decisions on site.
Candidates should have a NEBOSH Construction Certificate, ideally with some experience of working with management systems, and will hold a valid UK driving licence. A civils or utilities background would serve candidates well for this role.
This role represents an ideal opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for an opportunity to work in a progressive organisation that actively promotes career progression in a role which allows for modern and open-minded thinking.
Note: The role will require extensive travel across England and Scotland; therefore, candidates should ideally be based from the West Midlands to the NW or West Yorkshire regions.
