All UK manufacturing is based at our plant in Goole, East Yorkshire which has recently made significant investment in a new furnace using the latest technology and secures glass manufacture at the site for the next 20 years. The plant, which operates 24/7, can produce some of the most advanced and innovative energy saving architectural glass on the market today. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the key position of Engineering Manager responsible for leading our high performing Engineering Team. The successful candidate will lead the engineering team that supports the manufacturing operations to improve equipment reliability and availability performance. The role is suitable for experienced managers but could also be suitable as a development position for anyone looking to grow their leadership skills further. Our Team Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will ensure people, processes and technologies are working at optimal performance to meet key production and business objectives. What You Will Do Build safety competence in the team and across the plant that improves safety performance and protects employees, visitors, neighbours and the environment. Provide leadership and prioritisation for engineering and reliability issues that impact operations in the medium to long term. Lead and develop your team to contribute maximum value by providing coaching, 1-2-1 sessions, competence and talent development. Conduct reviews of the preventative maintenance programme and work practices to ensure the correct asset care programmes are applied to deliver the needs of operations. Drive the development of a proactive reliability-based culture. Internal and external networking with subject matter experts and keeping updated on latest reliability techniques. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, a focus in asset management is preferable. Experience of different maintenance strategies that use multiple condition monitoring techniques is essential for this role. An adaptable and flexible approach with a positive attitude. You like to make a difference by identifying opportunities to continually improve and transform yourself and the business. Minimum HND in Engineering Ability to communicate at all levels across the business. Understanding of key Health & Safety legislation and how to apply it in practice. Experience of leading, coaching and developing individuals and teams. The ability to build strong relationships and work as part of a wider plant team of key leaders.
