My Client is recruiting for a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer in the Water Sector
Location: Preferred Midlands and North England. Remote working with frequent office and client sites visits.
The company are a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a wide range of Asset Management, Engineering and Commercial services to clients across the water, energy and environment sectors, across the UK.
Role Description
An opportunity has arisen for Electrical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for the production and coordination of outline and detailed design deliverables on multidiscipline engineering schemes. These schemes are delivered across a wide client base nationally and internationally, mainly focusing on process and water industries.
Your typical duties and responsibilities will include the preparation of and / or supervision of the preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules up to detailed design level. You will manage the interfaces and integration of the EICA design with that of other disciplines and produce documentation, including user requirement specifications / control philosophies, tender documentation (including particular EICA specifications), schedules and design reports to achieve the correct time / cost / quality balance for the project.
Essential Skills/Attributes
We are seeking an electrical engineer who can demonstrate the following attributes:
1. An industry applicable HNC/HND, or BEng/BSc.
2. Good technical knowledge of electrical and ICA (EICA) engineering and able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts EICA engineering issues.
3. Able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and experience in LV (HV would be an advantage) distribution systems, motor control centres / control panels, electrical installation practices, SCADA and telemetry systems.
4. Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of current instrumentation and communication protocols.
5. Generate control philosophies, URS and FDS documents (where applicable) to client briefs and specifications.
6. Commercial and contractual awareness.
7. Experience with AMTECH/TRIMBLE to produce cable calculations, cable schedules, fault studies and discrimination studies.
8. Experience with AutoCAD.
9. Experience and understanding of water and sewage treatment processes and specifications
10. An organized, self-motivated team player capable of working with others to consistently deliver required outputs.
Desirable Skills/Attributes
11. Use of proprietary software to generate lighting design (Relux).
12. Experience with HV electrical systems design and specification.
13. Current AP / SAP certification.
14. ECS, SSSTS, Confined Space Training, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene).
15. Experience with DSEAR assessments and ATEX directives.
16. Experience with LOPA and SIL assessments.
17. Design, Erection and Verification (2396) - City & Guilds.
18. CompEx certified.
19. CEng or IEng with the IET.
20. Undertaking Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
21. Undertaking Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessments.
