Workshop Controller - Perrys KIA & Vauxhall Preston

Workshop Controller key responsibilities:
1. Supporting and training the Technicians to improve the skill sets of the team
2. During busy periods, undertaking the maintenance, service, and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard
3. To ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated effectively to other members of the department
4. Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilizing available skills mix
5. Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators
6. Allocate jobs to the workshop productive as appropriate to ensure maximum efficiency
7. Liaise with internal and external customers as required for the collection and delivery of vehicles
8. Ensuring all parts that are required to complete work within the workshop are ordered and placed through the computerized workflow system, including emailing suppliers with orders
9. Ensure that these parts are linked to the correct job number and placed in the correct allocated rack accordingly
The Ideal Workshop Controller:
You will currently be working either as a Mechanic or a Service Technician in a garage/dealership environment and be ready to take the step up into an exciting new hands-on role. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work to short deadlines and juggle competing priorities. The role demands a flexible attitude and excellent customer service skills as you will be responsible for liaising with both internal and external customers.
You will need to have a proven track record in running a successful fast-paced workshop, have good management skills, and be able to provide leadership for the Vehicle Technicians.
