Our client, a prominent player in the infrastructure sector, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead their Highways Maintenance division and oversee a significant term maintenance contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to shape the commercial strategy, drive performance, and ensure effective contract management across high-profile maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the commercial team to achieve strategic and financial goals.
* Oversee the administration and execution of the highways maintenance term contract, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and efficient resource allocation.
* Develop and implement robust commercial strategies to optimise profitability and control costs.
* Manage contract negotiation, variations, claims, and dispute resolution to safeguard the company's interests.
* Work closely with operational teams to maintain alignment between project delivery and commercial objectives.
* Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and business growth.
* Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and regular financial reports for senior management.
* Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements related to highways maintenance projects.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to the commercial team, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Senior Commercial Manager, preferably in highways maintenance or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of term maintenance contracts, NEC forms of contract, and related contractual frameworks.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
* Expertise in contract negotiation, cost management, and risk mitigation.
* Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to solve complex commercial challenges.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field; relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) are highly desirable.
