An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Lead to work within AMH wards at Lanchester Road Hospital
This exciting and challenging role will afford the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice. You will be in a key role within the team and alongside other members of the leadership team, ensuring the overall aims and purpose of the ward are clear and that patient safety is will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care, and will be required to work rotational days and night shifts.
Lanchester Road Hospital is a purpose built Mental Health Hospital based in Durham. Our spacious grounds comprise of two 20 bedded adult acute in-patients wards, Farnham (male) and Tunstall (female).
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be working with patients within our acute units providing clinical leadership to a core team of staff. The successful applicant should have a person cantered values base, have skills in identifying strategies and plans for future care, maximising individual's strengths and minimising the impact of their needs on their daily lives.
You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with mental health needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
3. Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
4. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
5. 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework)
6. Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
7. Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate
8. Supervising or assessing students on practice placement
