My client is a leading civil engineering organisation dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. They have been awarded the Highways Term Service Agreement to deliver highways improvement schemes across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole for BCP Council. The contract, valued at up to £50m, started in June 2023 and extends for the next four years, with the potential for a further six years to May 2033.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for robust commercial management of various projects under the Highways Term Service Contract. This role includes overseeing the financial and contractual performance of projects, engaging with supply chain partners, and managing costs in accordance with contractual agreements. Additionally, the Quantity Surveyor will mentor and manage a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

Key Requirements:
- Proven success in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally in a regional civil engineering environment.
- NEC experience is a must, ideally option B.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (or relevant experience).
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Evidence of building effective relationships with teams.
- Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines.
- Good level of IT proficiency.
- General knowledge of cost management software and tools.
- Hold or be working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body (i.e. RICS or CICES) (desirable).
- CSCS card holder (desirable).
- Understanding of Lean principles (desirable).
