We’re looking for an ambitious individual to join our store as a Audiology Practioner/ Trainee Hearing Aid Dispenser. This degree apprenticeship will provide you with experience of a full time-role, an industry recognised qualification, and all the support you need from a whole load of experts, as well as a real wage you can spend on whatever matters to you. Salary: £25K per annum
What can I expect from the programme?
Before the course starts, we will embed you into the Specsavers culture and you will learn the basics of audiology and patient interactions. During your training you will develop a professional skillset, enabling you to provide diagnostic audiology and rehabilitation services, dispense hearing aids, and perform wax removal.
The course is a university college led programme that includes online lectures and 7-11 weeks of residential at the college you are studying at. In addition to this, you will be supported by a registered Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC) supervisor who will be your mentor throughout the duration of your apprenticeship.
We’re looking for candidates who can start any time, you’ll then be enrolled onto the HAD course to start in September/ October 2025, which typically runs for around 24 months.
The course is a fully funded level 5 apprenticeship, once completed you will be a qualified Audiologist and able to register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser. But your career does not stop here, there is ongoing training and support, progression opportunities, and the ability to own your very own Specsavers store in the future.
What we’re looking for
We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates who are looking for a career change and have experience in the following areas;
* Working in a customer-facing role, with a track record of excellent communication and rapport-building skills
* Working in a team environment to achieve specific targets or goals.
* Helping a wide range of people, ideally in a public-facing role
* Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Previous healthcare experience is an advantage.
Eligibility Criteria
* Aged 18+
* Have a minimum of a grade 4/C in English, Maths and a Science (or the equivalent at level 2) plus a minimum of 32 UCAS tariff points (or relevant work experience as a mature learner)(entry criteria is dependent on external learning provider)
* Be a resident of the UK for 3 years prior to the first day of the course
* Able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
* Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English. For those whose first language is not English, there is a HCPC requirement to be a level 7 on the International English Language Testing System.
