We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Minworth/Birmingham. The Quality Engineer will maintain the production process as efficiently and effectively as possible, whilst ensuring that the finished products are safe, dependable, and meet customer expectations.
How you will contribute
1. Provide input on processes from a quality perspective and assist in implementing new processes.
2. Develop and design corrective actions for problems and establish problem-solving techniques to reduce process variation.
3. Gather data from customer and internal sources for problem solving and communicate/report to relevant personnel.
4. Support operational teams to ensure prompt and robust actions are taken.
5. Champion lean engineering goals and promote a lean culture within the organization.
6. Manage all projects and documentation related to the quality system for assigned processes/launches.
7. Maintain and update the Quality System in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements and oversee necessary actions.
8. Mentor and support the organization on quality tools such as problem-solving, risk management, and continuous improvement.
What you will bring
1. 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Preferred background in automotive or logistics industries.
3. ISO 9001 or 16949 auditor training and qualification.
4. Experience in auditing is preferred.
5. Risk management experience using tools such as FMEA.
6. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
7. Degree-level education in a relevant field is preferred.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
9. Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
