We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Housing Needs Team as a Project Development Officer.
Your role:
The post holder will focus on delivering the East Suffolk Housing Pathway across East Suffolk. This innovative model will enable preventative support to be delivered to those already housed, but at risk of homelessness and those facing homelessness to support them to return to independent living. You will work with key stakeholders and service providers across East Suffolk and will coordinate the bed allocations as and when vacancies become available.
In addition, this role will provide support to the Strategic and Operational Lead in carrying out the Local Authority’s statutory duties in relation to homelessness and rough sleeping in accordance with the relevant legislation and Statutory Guidance, notably Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
What you will need:
The candidate will have experience of working in the housing sector and supported accommodation and previous experience of working with the public. You will have the ability to explain complex information in a clear way to a range of audiences and the ability to work on your own initiative with good organisational skills.
Having relevant experience or qualification in housing, such as a Certificate in Housing Options and Advice at level 3 is essential and to be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
