Job Description
Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Estimating Specialist to work at our customers site in Derby on a contract basis.
This is a demanding role and will be joining the team at a stage where the business is increasing the awareness and capability of Cost Estimating within the organisation. The successful candidate will play a lead role in the development of this capability and act as part of the focal point for all estimating governance activities within the business.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead the update of the Estimating Process and ensure that it is kept up date, taking into account updates to the overall Standard and Portfolio Management Office Initiatives
* Manage updates to the Estimating Guidance Documentation within the Submarines Business
* Lead the development and upkeep of an Estimating Website for Submarines
* Working with the SCCR team continue to develop the Basis of Estimate templates to ensure these are kept current with best practice and feedback from the Business
* Support Bids & Campaigns from a Central Estimating perspective, offering guidance and support to teams as they work through the Estimating process
* Ensure that all bids are developed in line with the Estimating Process
* Support validation & verification activities with regards to estimates
* Support the Head of Estimating in promotion of the Estimating capability throughout the business
* Be seen as a “go to” person for Estimating within Submarines
* Alongside the remainder of the Central Estimating Team act as the first point of contact in regards to any Cost Estimating queries within the Business
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications and Experience
* Candidates with solid experience in any of the following functions: Procurement, Engineering, Project Management or Finance with an interest in joining a critical area within Submarines
* A track record of delivering and building good internal and external relationships;
* Experience of complex Engineering Programmes
* Change / Transformation Management experience
* Interest in Cost Estimating and analytical skills
* A degree or equivalent through experience
Additional Information
**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
