About the opportunity
The Machine Operator reports to the Factory Manager and is part of the manufacturing team. The key focus of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of the machinery used in the production process to shape, cut and form steel into roof trusses, joists, and wall frames. More specifically, you will:
* Loading of new coils on the de-coiler and ensuring finished product is loaded onto trolleys in a methodical order
* Reset, adjust, and correct machine set up to improve quality output
* Ensure daily audits (Calibration checks) are completed
* Monitor and report any abnormal machine operation and/or maintenance
* Perform routine maintenance on equipment and assist maintenance as required
* Maintenance reports are completed in a timely manner to avoid breakdowns
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will demonstrate:
* Strong attention to detail producing high quality work
* Good mechanical aptitude ideally with some exposure to roll forming
* Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a close-knit team
* Current driver's license and reliable transport
* Available to work Monday - Friday and occasional Saturdays - 38 hours a week
