Job description FULL TIME CARETAKER - CWRT RAWLIN PRIMARY SCHOOL
PERMANENT
Required: As soon as possible
GRADE 4, LEVEL 2
37 hours per week*
The daily hours will be split into two shifts (morning and afternoon)
7:30am - 10:30am Monday to Friday
1:30pm - 6:00pm Monday to Thursday
2:00 - 6:00pm Friday
(Total 37 hours per week)
* Occasionally, the needs of the school will change (e.g. Open Evenings, PTA events, evening concerts etc.) so some flexibility will be needed to amend the above hours as necessary. Please also note that the Caretaker will be required to attend out of hours call outs (rare occasions, but, for example, should an alarm go off).
The Governors of Cwrt Rawlin Primary School wish to appoint a new full-time caretaker who will maintain high standards and health & safety of the building and school environment.
We are looking for a proactive Caretaker who is able to work practically on a day-to-day basis, someone who can particularly turn their hand to all things practical - building, painting & decorating and supporting the overall DIY/ fixing aspects of running a school.
We are looking for a person who:
Has experience of building maintenance;
Understands fire safety and has a general knowledge of health and safety;
Has a committed, flexible and reliable attitude;
Has an ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively;
Has high expectations of personal and others' safety, especially of pupils;
Has excellent DIY skills, ready to undertake general repairs and maintenance with confidence;
Is willing to go 'the extra mile' for staff and pupils;
Is a committed and efficient worker who will be able to be flexible, use their own initiative and be proactive in solving problems;
Has the ability to contribute to the security, safety ad day-to-day running of the school premises ad site;
Is prepared to undertake any relevant training.
