We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Group HR Manager on a full-time (37.5 hours) permanent basis to join our team at our Head Office in Bristol. Occasional travel to our other sites will be required but we can provide you with a company car. This standalone role is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the company while maintaining and enhancing our reputation as the dealership of choice in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Management:
1. Oversee all stages of the employee journey, from recruitment and onboarding to development, engagement, and offboarding.
2. Design and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
3. Lead the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, advertising roles, and supporting hiring managers during interviews.
Employee Relations:
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance to managers and employees on ER-related policies and procedures.
2. Handle complex employee issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management, ensuring compliance with UK employment laws.
Policy Development and Compliance:
1. Develop, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation, industry standards and best practice.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
1. Assist with the payroll processes in collaboration with the finance team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
2. Manage employee benefits, including pensions and holiday entitlements.
Training and Development:
1. Identify training needs and coordinate relevant programs to upskill employees and improve performance.
2. Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
HR Reporting and Data Management:
1. Maintain accurate employee records and provide regular HR reports to senior management.
2. Monitor key HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
Culture and Engagement:
1. Foster a positive workplace culture by leading initiatives to boost employee engagement and satisfaction.
2. Act as a champion of the company’s values and ensure they are embedded across the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Proven experience in an HR generalist or managerial role, ideally in an SME or standalone capacity.
2. CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) is essential; Level 7 is desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
4. Driving Licence.

1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
2. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
3. A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
