Job Description
The Senior Electronics Engineer will work on New Product Development (NPD) and Maintenance of Line (MOL) projects. This involves designing Schematics, PCBs, Firmware, and production support equipment to meet quality, regulatory, performance, time, and cost targets.
A strong understanding of product safety, regulation, and certification requirements is essential.
The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team, focusing on reductions in time to market, product costs, and critical thinking.
This role is based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
A typical day will involve:
* Designing and supporting all Electronic systems, including Schematic and PCB layout, high voltage circuits, power supplies, analogue and high-speed digital circuits
* Writing software, including VHDL, C, Assembler and Linux
* Testing and validating designs, with experience in prototyping, debugging and modelling
* Collaborating with other Electronics Engineers to share knowledge and skills, providing input in design reviews and problem solving support
* Working with production and suppliers to qualify new parts and components
* Creating high quality reports and documentation
The essential requirements include:
* At least 5 years of industry experience
* Detailed knowledge of electronics engineering principles, sophisticated system integration, analytical skills and problem solving ability
* Experience designing products using CAD tools, integrating mechanics, electronics and software
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
