Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Northampton / Site based
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 plus package including Car allowance or Car, tax free lodge allowance (where required) and company benefits.
Summary
One of the largest and most respected earthworks contractors in the UK is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their Major Projects Team at the HS2 Project in Chipping Warden.
Working in partnership with several main contractors to deliver 25 million cubic meters of earthworks, including the cuttings and backfill of two green tunnels.
Seeking someone with:
* Previous experience in Construction / Civil engineering / Heavy Plant with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in Health & Safety
* Earth / Groundworks experience would be desirable
* Understanding / Knowledge of plant equipment (e.g., dump trucks, excavators)
* NEBOSH Construction / General Certificate (or equivalent)
* Technical Member of IOSH
* CSCS - Required
* IEMA Certificate - Desirable
* Driving Licence
What you'll be doing
* Implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and staying updated with key changes to legislation.
* Providing project teams with expert H&S technical advice, guidance, and support, conducting regular site inspections, producing formal reports, and engaging with works managers, supervisors, and plant operators, to ensure clear responsibilities and answer technical health and safety related inquiries.
* Collaboratively engaging with both internal and external customers and the supply chain to promote our Key Safe Behaviours.
* Providing expert support for the investigations of accidents, incidents, and near miss events in accordance with requirements.
* Engaging and developing relationships with engineering teams to eliminate and reduce H&S risk through design and planning.
* Challenging the norm by innovating and improving the way we work, while keeping pace with industry change and promoting successes.
