Construction Lawyer
BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting in the recruitment of a non-contentious Construction Lawyer with a minimum of four years' PQE for the Bristol office of a market leading national law firm. This is an opportunity to join a Legal 500 and Chambers ranked team that works on a range of high value, complex instructions as a panel firm for clients across the local and central government, health and social care and housing sectors as well as for a growing client base of private sector clients throughout the UK and with international reach. Clients operate in the health, highways, leisure, waste management and renewable energy sectors. The firm is happy to consider candidates who are looking to work flexibly long term and offers high levels of remote working.
The Role
As a Lawyer in the Bristol office of this award winning Construction team, your role would involve:
· Advising clients on the delivery of projects using and adapting industry standard forms or bespoke documentation
· Advising on all the PPP models, including the PFI market
· Advising on a number of the major Government construction programmes for delivery of new hospitals, social housing, schools and highways
· Acting for on high value, complex instructions for clients including developers, contractors, end-user clients, central and local government, NHS Trusts and housing associations
· Working mainly on non-contentious construction work with the option to undertake a mixed caseload if desired
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in your application for this Construction Lawyer position, you will:
· Be an experienced non-contentious construction solicitor with a minimum of four years' PQE
· Candidates with mixed contentious/non-contentious experience are also encouraged to apply as a balanced role with contentious construction can be offered
· Have PFI experience (desirable but by no means essential)
· Be driven and passionate about construction law with the ability to think creatively
· Be a good team player
· Have strong negotiation and drafting skills
· Be interested in maintaining strong client relationships and developing new relationships as well as increasing the team's market profile in the South West
