An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced or recent graduate engineer to join our F1 design office as a Design Quality Engineer.
We’re seeking a team player with a keen interest in engineering processes, optimisation of design processes, CAD systems, and information flow.
The successful candidate will be someone with a desire to develop and document the processes and methods which support Vehicle Design, while ensuring the Design output supports the needs of our partner departments. You'll work with colleagues throughout the engineering arm of Williams Racing, including Manufacturing Quality, Race Team, Parts Management, IT, and beyond.
To be successful in the role you'll have a common-sense approach to problem solving and an interest in some or all of these areas:
1. Organising data and information
2. Practical uses of Product Lifecycle Management software
3. Custom macros, custom coding, or custom feature creation for CAD systems
4. Experience of SharePoint workflows, PLM systems, and/or ERP systems will be advantageous.
As Design Quality Engineer, you'll be expected to have a technical engineering qualification, experience working with computer systems, and experience working with real engineering components.
If you have experience of working with real engineering parts and assemblies either from work, education, or hobbies, this will help guide your approach to problems and enhance your contribution in the role.
Reporting to the Head of Design Quality, this role gives you exposure to a breadth of the engineering process in F1 and would suit someone motivated to make their contribution to our increased competitiveness.
If the following attributes describe you, we’d be pleased to hear from you:
1. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
2. An engineering qualification at degree level or equivalent.
3. You enjoy problem solving, thinking critically, and working with others.
4. You are comfortable using software applications.
5. You’re able to communicate your ideas clearly.
Training in our software will be given. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Please apply with a covering letter and a two-page CV.
