Royal Devon considers the Band 7 team leader role as pivotal to the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust. This role will require you to provide decisive and effective clinical input whilst demonstrating excellent leadership qualities, effective communication skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
AAA and KGV receive and treat emergency surgical patients directly from the emergency department, GP referrals and other ward areas. The unit is part of the surgical division, which has a highly competent and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team who will support the successful candidate in their role.
The post holder must be proactive, dynamic and innovative to drive forward change and improvement. They must possess qualities which show them to be highly motivated and passionate about caring for the patients within their unit. The post holder must have the ability to inspire and develop the team to continue driving forward and improving standards of care, working towards service development.
You will be supported by the Surgical Clinical Matron who will have overall responsibility for ensuring that patient care, safety and experience is at the highest standard.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays
