Your responsibilities will include reporting progress, communicating technical risks, and effectively managing your team's professional development.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for a team of around 15 engineers that support a variety of programmes and projects for automation and low voltage power distribution systems, to meet customer demands and the organisation's strategic objectives. You will also:
1. Act as the focal point for all aspects related to your team's engineering discipline and resolve technical issues, liaising with the Engineering Governance Team as necessary.
2. Engage with the Programme Management team to ensure that engineering estimates are accurate and achievable so that plans are resourced with the right skills, to deliver against planned and emergent demands.
3. Support the business resource planning activities by providing resource and capability forecasts, including the skillsets (now and predicted) and the tools/infrastructure requirements.
4. Robustly manage the workflow into your team and engage with stakeholders to manage technical delivery of engineering schedules. Own the commitment, communication, and daily management of your team resources in support of all programmes and projects.
